Research
Pee Dee Cardiology has been selected to participate in many international clinical research trials. Many of the studies are coordinated through Duke Medical Center. We are currently involved in a variety of clinical research projects. We work closely with McLeod Regional Medical Center and their cardiology research program. We also do clinical research within our office setting. Clinical Research offers us the opportunity to remain on the cutting edge of medical technology. We are able to bring potentially life-saving drugs and medication that enhance the quality of life to our patients and monitor their response closely.
Currently we are involved in clinical studies involving heart failure, treatment of the acute myocardial infarction and lipid management. We participate in the National Registration of Myocardial Infraction - the largest trial of its kind. Previously we have be involved in stent, pacemaker and defibrillator trials, beta blockers, antiplatelet and other mediation studies.
